Question by susan: what are the best HCG drops for weight loss?
I’ve heard homeopathic hcg with alcohol aren’t any good but read other blogs that say they work just fine. has anyone had success with the homeopathic with alcohol?

Answer by izzy
Whether you use drops or injections they are a waste of money,
500-calories per day is severely restrictive! In fact, it is not enough calories to support normal brain function. Your body will compensate by using stores of glycogen, protein (muscle) and some fat, which lowers your resting metabolism. Before you can lose true weight, you will be so irritable, lightheaded, and cranky that you’ll reach for whatever food you can get your hands on and have a field day.
There is no scientific evidence supporting HCG as a weight loss strategy. The FDA has required all marketing and advertising of HCG to state the following: “HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or ‘normal’ distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.”

Question by watson c: weight problem with various other symptoms?
Main problem is weight gain. I am 5’3″ and currently weigh 212 lbs. In the last year I have gained about 30 pounds, I am more active than I was a year ago, eat healthier, have had blood work done (not thyroid), but can not lose weight, if I do lose any it comes back plus more. I nearly never eat fast food, never drink soda, only have alcohol once or twice a week. rarely eat junk food, diet leans more to the vegetarian side, try to eat whole grains over any other type. (white foods are rare) only have one or 2 cups of coffee or tea a day. avoid tap water , (reverse osmosis or spring water only …at least 64 oz a day)
I am aware that eating fewer than 1000 calories causes body to basically hibernate, but that’s all I care to eat most days.
other information that may be useful to problem above:
along with this I have a multitude of other symptoms originally I was told it was inflammatory arthritis I originally was put on steroids for over a year for this, ( but learned to control it with herbs and mostly organic diet for the past 5+ years) but now it seems more like fibromyalgia, which one dr. suggested a few years ago that I may have it but at the time I dismissed this because at the time that was the “go to
” diagnosis for doctors around my area. (will not list all the fibro symptoms here because you know what they are and I have them ALL)
BUT with all the symptoms listed above plus severe muscle cramping(mainly in legs and back) and swelling and severe pain of the feet . (no other cause for the muscle cramps. I stay well hydrated, I take a very potent vitamin. I am not on any medications. )
Exercise when body allows it includes yoga, walking 1 to 3 miles, dance, and chasing a 2yr old.
So with all this info…. whats wrong with me?????
(not a hypochondriac.. I do not want to go on any medication would rather treat with homeopathy, would rather stay out of local doctors’ offices for this because they only want to treat symptoms not find what the cause is.
please help!!!

Question by dewdrop53: 4 year old daughter is over weight?
i have a daughter who is 4 and a half now. she has always been tall for her age. right now her height is 3ft 11 and 1/2 inches when she was born she was quite thin 3.22 kgs but even then she had an unusualy protruding tummy. then it looked cute. but then slowly as she grew up her tummy didnt go down now the thing is that she has become 25kgs. but her tummy really looks odd. i have to buy jeans fr her formt he adult section and get it altered. her tummy girth is right now 26 inches. other than that she is normal child. she eats junk food but not a lot. and i cant explain dieting to her as she is so small. i dont know what to do. i dont want my daughter to grow up to be obese. but i dnt know why she has a slower metabolism than others. whatever she eats just sticks to her body and doesnt get burned out. i mean its not like she eats a lot… she eats whatever a normal 4 year old would eat. 3 meals a day normal diet, maybe chips or choclate twice a week. isnt that normal for kids??? how can u ask a child t stop eating all those things forever. she doesnt understand why i dont want her to eat all that when all her other friends can eat them. she thinks im just being mean. i feel that her body cant burn out whatever carbs pr fat she intakes.
can anybody suggest something any excersise or homeopathy medicine to increase body metabolism.

that is weird it could be something more serious then just a weight problem have you talked to your daughters ped about it? Maybe talk to another doctor. cause if she is eating healthy she shouldn’t be over weight. also make sure she gets outside a lot and make sure she runs around.

Question by sk8r_69: What supplements should i take for weight lifting?
I have just started weight lifting and i was told i should be taking supplements. There are so many, which ones should i be taking or do i even need them. I am basically looking to bulk up and gain muscle.

Answer by everyidistaken12
No you do not “need” them. They merely make attaining your nutritional requirements much easier than through whole foods.
The much-agreed upon list of important supplements are (in order)
1) Whey Protein
2) Multi Vitamin
3) Gluatamine
You stated that you just started weight training. I wouldn’t bother with the supplements yet (save the cash). You should be focusing on educating yourself (there is a lot to know if you want to succeed), and making sure you are taking in more calories every day than your body is spending (if not, no muscle gain)
