One of this section’s regulars (the one who insists homeopathy can treat every condition from cancer through epilepsy to diabetes types 1 and 2) recently posted thus:

Now, anyone with a nodding acquaintance with Somers’ case (and certainly anyone who has read her book on the subject, which I believe said regular contributor has recommended in the past) will know that Somers’ very early stage, oestrogen positive breast cancer was treated, as such cases are, with surgery (lumpectomy) and radiotherapy (pretty much belt and braces in the circumstances).

My question is: Said regular contributor frequently advises people on cancer treatment, as well as the treatment of myriad other conditions. Given this evidence of the lack of research said contributor puts into their answers, can anyone trust any advice s/he gives? And can anyone seriously question the motives of altmed sceptics who question and expose such ignorance?

Said user does a lot worse than that. She recently advised a mom that magic water and sugar pills will cure a child’s pertussis in 2 days!

Clearly her advice can’t be trusted – the problem is she goes after users who aren’t regulars and who aren’t aware of her history of verbal diarrhea. Moreover she frequently directs users to crank websites which prey upon the gullible and vulnerable.

So yes it’s vital that anyone who can see the flaws and danger in her answers should speak up. But they need to word it carefully – said user and her cronies will report any answer they can.

What I find disgusting is her more ‘intelligent’ alt medder buddies here do nothing about this – they keep quiet and let her spew her vile garbage to the world (have they no ethics?), while the rest stupidly question why skeptical people are even here…..
