Countries of high latent demand and high relative accessibility (e.g. easier entry for one firm compared to other firms) are given highest priority. The figure below shows two different scenarios. Accessibility is defined as a firm’s ease of entering or supplying from or to a market (the “supply side”), and latent demand is an indicator of the potential in serving from or to the market (the “demand side”). Framework for Prioritizing Countries. Demand/Market Potential Driven Firm. Relative Accessibility. Accessibility/Supply Averse Firm. In the top figure, the firm is driven by market potential, whereas the bottom figure represents a firm that is driven by costs or by an aversion to difficult markets. This report treats the reader as coming from a “generic firm” approaching the global market – neither a market-driven nor a cost-driven company. Planners must therefore augment this report with their own company-specific factors that might change the priorities (e.g. a Canadian firm may have higher accessibility in Canada than a German firm). Latent Demand and Accessibility in Australia. This report provides a detailed overview of factors driving latent demand and accessibility for nutritional supplements in Australia. Latent demand is largely driven by economic fundamentals specific to nutritional supplements. This topic is discussed in Chapter 2 using work carried out in Australia on behalf of American firms and authored by the United States government (typically commercial attachés or similar persons in local offices of the U.S. Department of State). I have included a number of edits to clarify the information provided. Latent demand only represents half of the picture. Question by AL IS ON VACATION AND HAS NO PIC: What supplements can I take to counteract the effects of alcohol?
by that I don’t mean hangovers. I’m taking about nutrient deficiencies, cirrhosis of the liver, brain damage, sexual problems, heart disease, cancer, etc. Will supplements help me reduce my odds of getting those things? because I’m not going to give up my 4 or 5 drinks a day. I’m not an alcoholic but I like to drink.

I’m trying to lose fat gain muscle (no surprise with those goals I hope). Can anyone here recommend any supplements that I could get at a grocery store or something (I’m not looking for some obscure potion) that can assist me with my new diet and exercise routine? Anything that has worked for you? I am completly clueless of all things diet/fitness related by the way so if something seems too obvious to mention, please mention it anyway. Thanks.

Hoodia works well. It helps you burn fat but doesn’t make you feel like you’re on speed.

I am doing a research project about Lap Band surgery and I am having trouble finding supplements. My teacher said there are a lot that you need to take, but I’m really only finding multivitamin, calcium and iron supplements.

Lap Band weight loss surgery is a restrictive type of weight loss surgery and not a malabsorptive type of surgery like gastric bypass surgery is. With gastric bypass, a greater number of supplements are therefore required.
(You may make a point in your project to differentiate between the types of weight loss surgeries.)

However, patients CAN develop nutrient deficiencies with a restrictive procedure such as the gastric banding surgery due to a lower food intake.
Iron and B vitamin deficiencies are commonly reported in gastric band patients. Poor bone health is also a risk if they don’t get adequate amounts of calcium.
Gastric lap-band patients often have trouble eating beef, pork, lamb, and sometimes poultry after surgery. These foods all contain iron, as do enriched cereals, pastas and rice which are often not tolerated after surgery. The lost iron can easily be replaced IF NECESSARY, with properly formulated bariatric supplements.
I suggest multivitamin and calcium supplements regularly, but suggest iron supplements only if a patient’s tested blood work shows they need it since iron is a “pro-oxidant,” and undesirable in excess amounts!

I want to gain muscle mass in 4 months. I heard of whey protein, creatine, multi vitamin. I was wondering what combination of those or other supplements I should take for the best results? I do not want to take anything with side effects that could cause any harm to my body. Can anyone help me?

Youre on the right path..now you have to TRAIN! On a personal note, only take one scoop of whey protein at a time. If you take two you have have unexpected results

Question by pugdog: Is it ok to take effexor XR with herbal supplements?
I take Effexor XR 37.5mg and it started to work the first day. I was wondering if it is safe to take natural supplements like L-Tyrosine, PharmaGABA, and or 50mg 5-htp in addition to Effexor XR?

I wouldn’t take these supplements while on Effexor. 37.5 mg is a minimal dose. If you’re not feeling like the Effexor has worked good enough, talk to your doctor and see about getting the dosage upped.
These types of supplements work on your neurotransmitters in a similar way to antidepressants (as you apparently know). If you do want to take them, please talk to your doctor. You don’t want to get seratonin syndrome which is like an OD and can be fatal..
