Question by : What are some homeopathic remedies for meningitis?
My 4 year old son is deathly ill with meningitis and treatment is way too expensive for us to afford.. I’ve been looking into homeopathy and have read it’s a safer, and less expensive alternative to mainstream medicine. What are some good homeopathic remedies for meningitis?
Best answer:
Answer by shevek1248
There are none. Homeopathy does not work any better than a placebo, and if you attempt to use it to treat your son’s meningitis, he will die. And then, God willing, you’ll be put into prison for negligent homicide.
Try some actual medicine. It works.

You probably have a “staph” infection, you could go to a MD for some antibiotics, some staph infections can be contagious, and involve deeper skin structures, and cause scarring. You could also try a triple antibiotic cream OTC called ” Neosporin”,available everywhere drugs are sold.Washing your hand’s with antibacterial soap, and using a “hand sanitizer” gel will help also. Take care. SW RNP

I’ve heard that using a Neti pot to clear out your sinuses can be a huge help. I’ve never used one myself, but I know several people who have, and although the process itself may be rather uncomfortable for some, they’ve all had great results.

Question by Deesa80: What are some good supplements to take for depression and anxiety?
I have been on and off of citalopram for a year for depression and mood swings. It helps, but I wanted to get off of it. Are there any supplements that help with mood swings and depression. I do take a multivitamin. I also suffer from social anxiety and take valium off and on. I don’t take them everyday. Are there any supplements that I could take besides valium? Thanks.

Answer by Socrates
Healthy food, exercise, sunlight.
Handling dirt is actually proven to be an effective anti-depressant, you could start planning a garden for the spring.
If none of that works, try smoking some weed. Although that may not be effective for social anxiety.
Whatever you do, stay away from those pharmaceuticals. Sounds like you are on the right track.

Homeopathic Treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis – Some Effective Homeopathic Treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis
Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is caused by bacterial overgrowth due to an imbalance in the homeostasis of the body, specifically the vagina. A woman with this disease may not show signs and symptoms but if they do, they are usually presented as pain, itching, foul odor and milky white to gray discharge.
Treatment for BV includes antibiotics like Metronidazole, Clindamycin and Tinidazole, among others. This usually lasts for 7 days for oral antibiotics while Tinidazole takes a shorter treatment time. These drugs however, may have horrible side-effects which decrease that compliance of patients hence, making the bacterial infection much worse.
This prompts other patients to seek alternative medical treatment instead. Homeopathic Treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis involves unconventional methods. It is categorically considered safe and patients need not worry about being bothered by side-effects accompanied by standard drugs.

Since Homeopathy revolves around the law of similars or “like cures like,” the treatments used are focused mainly on the signs and symptoms present and not the disease as a whole. That is why it is possible to be given several kinds of treatment with a single disease depending on the number of signs and symptoms present.
For Bacterial Vaginosis, homeopathic medicines like sepia, aspergillus, candida and notatum are commonly used for the characteristic signs and symptoms present. Notice that the medicines involved in Homeopathic Treatment are fungi and an animal (the ink). Some of these, if ingested in large amounts may cause unpleasant effects and even diseases. But in homeopathy, only minute amounts are given to patients to cancel out the symptoms present by overriding them with solutions that give the same symptoms to a healthy individual.

Heartburn Home Remedy: Some Easy Heartburn Cures Found in Your Own Kitchen
Thousands of people search for a heartburn home remedy every day. Many people suffer from heartburn around the world on a daily basis. Most medications suggested by doctors are not always cooperative and so people tend to want to find a quick heartburn home remedy. Today, people do not usually rely on drugs when treating heartburn. Because of these, people usually take a home remedy instead of taking some doctor-prescribed medicine. These home remedies have been tested and proven to be effective and reliable by many homes over the years over those prescribed drugs for heartburn.
What Is The Best Heartburn Home Remedy?
Heartburn or stomach indigestion is the burning sensation you feel in your stomach. At times, the pain, a burning sensation at most times, can spread to your neck, throat and even your jaw. This condition is caused by unhealthy food intake or daily irregular meals that can cause digestion problems. Most of the time, the food that we eat are not usually healthy for our body and most of the time causes some problems.
When following a heartburn home remedy, the first thing you have to do is to quit on some of your unhealthy habits or vices. Vices like smoking, drinking excessively, among others can worsen heartburn. Cigarettes contain nicotine which contributes more production of acids in your stomach. As a result, it irritates the esophagus and loosens the sphincter which is actually preventing acids to pass through the esophagus. Taking too much alcohol by drinking excessively also is not good for people suffering from heartburn. The excessive alcohol can become a poison, an acidic poison that can burn your stomach walls.
Supplements To Help Indigestion
Another heartburn home remedy is the natural health supplements that lessen the attacks or cases of heartburn you experience. There are a lot of these natural supplements that can help you cure heartburn. For an instance, eating an apple daily with a glass of water can be an effective cure to heartburn and a good heartburn home remedy. The popular quotation “an apple a day keeps the doctor away,” somehow has truth to it as it allows you not to visit your doctor for any heartburn attacks. Another good heartburn home remedy is water with baking soda. Drink this even though it does not have a nice taste since it eliminates the gas bubbles inside your stomach which will then relieve you of heartburn.
Food Considerations For Heartburn
Remember, eating excessive fatty or spicy food is not good for those who are suffering from heartburn, prompting many to search for a heartburn home remedy. These kinds of food usually are very difficult to digest. The extra acid that they produce can harm the esophagus which will, in turn cause an irritation. Also, eating your dinner earlier can be helpful since it gives your stomach enough time for digesting the food you have eaten before going to sleep. That way you will have less need for a heartburn home remedy.
When taking food, it is very important for you to know the exact limits. Delicious food can be tempting, but sometimes, a lot of these are harmful for your health. If you are going to take some, make sure to eat only what can’t give any harm to your digestive system.
All of the above are the known simple and easy heartburn home remedies. For these remedies to be more effective, be responsible for your health and all. You should always have a healthy lifestyle to protect your digestive system from being harmed enough to result to heartburn attacks. And if you ever need a heartburn home remedy, now you will know what to do.
What if you just can’t find a good heartburn home remedy? I know how hard it can be living with heartburn. I’ve been dealing with it myself for the last six years every single day. You need things that are effective and will work now.

The Dangers of Toothpaste
Warning: The Drugs in Your Toothpaste Can Affect Your Health
By Flora Stay, D.D.S.
NewsTarget.com, January 18, 2008
Straight to the Source
One of the fastest ways to absorb anything into the body is through the mouth. Drugs such as nitroglycerine for heart conditions and natural homeopathic remedies are given under the tongue for fast absorption. Your daily routine of brushing your teeth with your favorite toothpaste may also be delivering a daily dose of antibiotics or other potentially toxic ingredients, without you realizing it.
Most people, even dentists and dental hygienists, don’t realize there is a warning on the back of most toothpastes (including many from health food stores). The warning is mandated by the FDA for active ingredients that are drug based. The most common ones are fluoride, antibiotics and other drugs used to prevent cavities, tartar or teeth sensitivity.
Even children’s toothpaste has a warning to “keep out of reach of children under the age of six. If more than used for brushing is swallowed, contact the poison control center or your physician”. If a child under the age of six swallows half a tube of the sparkly, bright colored toothpaste that tastes like bubble gum and contains fluoride, the result could virtually be deadly.
Besides fluoride and the potential for poisoning your child if large amounts are swallowed, most toothpaste contain saccharin and many other artificial additives. Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) is another ingredient to stay away from. Studies have reported there’s a potential for flare-ups of canker sores with SLS. Instead of choosing one of these types of commercial toothpastes for your child or you, providing your family with nutritious meals and brushing with “common sense” toothpaste, without potentially toxic ingredients, is much safer.
In recent years we’ve been hearing about the alarming increase of superbugs such as methicillin-resistant Staphlycoccus aureas (MRSA). The CDC and other studies list one cause for the rise of these antibiotic resistant bacteria to the general overuse of antibiotics. This overuse is not always in the form of a pill. You may be absorbing a small amount of an antimicrobial drug through your personal products as well.
Many brands of toothpastes, deodorants, shampoos, and soaps contain antibiotics, antimicrobials and strong disinfecting detergents. Triclosan, acetylpyridium chloride and tea tree oil are commonly used ones. Although natural, tea tree oil is a strong anti-fungal and antibiotic better suited for conditions such as athlete’s foot than in your moisturizer.
Antibiotics should only be prescribed if you have a serious infection. Informed consumers make wise buying decisions that aren’t based on pretty packages. Read, research and choose wisely for you and your family.

It is all very true. Toothpastes, shampoos, lotions, deodorants – All of the conventional hygiene regimen is loaded full of carcinogenic compounds and parabens which are extremely toxic. Consider the fact that every product you put on your skin, and in your mouth contains small amounts of the toxic compounds. It all adds up.
Spend the extra dollar on natural or organic products with twice the effectiveness and zero health concern.
