My son is almost 3. He has already had pink eye 5 times, including right now! Yesterday he was fine as we both happily raked leaves. He was having so much fun! And then a few hours later his eyes were both pinkish. This morning I see that indeed he has pink eye again!

We do not have pets, and live in a new house (so it never had pets in it). However, he does attend daycare and has since he was 1 year old. I moved his daycare to a new one about 10 months ago and his health overall has improved so much. And yet, we still have the pink eye situation.

Has anyone had similar issues themselves? Is there something I can do to prevent this from constantly recurring? His Eye Doctor doesn’t have any clear answers. Are there homeopathic things like warm tea compresses or anything? I do put the antibiotic drops in his eyes every few hours as instructed but it is painful for both of us. He gets so agitated each time.

My daughter is 22 months. She had pink eye about 1 1/2 mos ago, got antibiotic, and it was gone in a couple days. But she started with it again last Thursday. I couldnt find the antibiotic drops at first, so I bought some homeopathic eyedrops at walmart and used those Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Then I found her antibiotic eyedrops. I used those Sunday night and this morning, but she seems worse now than a day or two ago. I hate to go to the doctor, my copay is expensive, and I already have the antibiotics. Do you think I should take her in? or just wait it out a couple more days? Her eyes seem to really bother her, she says “eyes hurt” and rubs them all the time, I cant keep her from touching them.
For those of you that feel the need to be rude….my daughters infection IS NOT left unattended, we are using the antibiotic pink eye drops that were prescribed to her a month ago! Basically, I need to know how long pink eye lasts and whether its normal to still have bad symptoms after using the over the counter stuff and then the antibiotics. I have no problem taking her if she needs to go to the doctor, all Im saying is that if the antibiotics are going to clear it up in a couple days, id rather not spend the copay for no reason.

Around feb. 20th, I woke up with the horrible “eyes glued shut” feeling and squinted my way to the bathroom only to find my eyes were literally neon pink. I washed my face, even used 2 different cloths for each eye. Was put on Bactrim & finished the course. 3 weeks later, I woke up in the same predicament, but only in my left eye. Used some homeopathic drops from the drug store while i wanted for my dr.’s schedule to open up for a few days. (those didn’t work by the way.) Put me on the same dose of meds, took a while longer to clear up. Now just this morning I developed it in my RIGHT eye. UGH! I have: bleached all bedding, bought new makeup EVERY time (what a waste of $$), bleached/boiled every washcloth I used and even towels I used after I showered. I don’t wear glasses or contacts. Before anyone asks, it is NOT allergy pink eye because I get a good amout light green/whiteish discharge EVERY time. What is WRONG WITH ME?!

Last night I noticed that sometimes my dog would squint and his eye was a little red and watery. Other times he had it opened fine and it looked fine but this morning it looked like he was squinting again. After doing some research I think he may have conjunctivitis. I can not get to the vet until Thursday morning though. I saw on another posting someone mentioned using a homeopathic liquid called Collodial Silver to help keep his eye clean until we can get to the vet. Does anyone know anything about this stuff or have any other suggestions.

Please don’t respond with the obvious such as “take him to the vet”.
