Question by Pepperment: Would it be okay for me to use Similasan Homeopathic Earache Relief on my dog?
Obviously I have never shared medication with my dog before however, I am in a bit of a bind. My dog has an ear infection and she gets them quite often. I have been using Children’s Benedryl for her and this was suggested by the Vet when she has allergy issues so, I assumed it wouldn’t hurt to give her some for the ear infection. Then, I thought about something. For my own ears I have been using a non prescription medication called Similasan Healthy Relief Homeopathic ear drops. The active ingredient in it is Glycerin 10ml/0.33 fl oz. It also contains Chamomilla 10x Mercuris Solubilis 15x and Sulphur 12x. Would this be okay to use on my dog until I can get her to a vet? If not does anyone have any idea what I can use until I am able to make an appointment with the Vet? My dog is a Cockapoo and I would guess she weighs in around 25lbs (give or take a few lbs.) Thanks for your help! Both Bailey and I appreciate it!
Yes, we do know she has allergy issues and no, I have not already used anything on her. As for the Benedryl the Vet did tell me to use that for MY dog…who else’s dog would my Vet give me suggestions about? Anyway, I was just hoping I could do something for her before she can see the vet. I guess not but, I will keep up with the Benedryl- 1 pre measured tsp a day until I get to the vet.

Don’t use any human products on your dog unless directed to do so by your vet. If it’s an infection, antibiotics are needed to clear it up. nothing else will cure it except antibiotics. i would suggest calling your vet and asking him/her for a possible temporary solution. or take her into an emergency clinic and get help there.

Question by Panichick: Is it okay to take cranberry herbal supplements along with antibiotics?
I was prescribed antibiotics today to treat a bladder infection, but I also want to take cranberry herbal supplements.
I mean, they’re just like vitamins right? There wouldn’t be any bad effects with taking them AND antibiotics at the same time? Right?

The evidence for cranberry being effective against urinary tract infections is average at best.
If you still want to take them, you should ask your doctor/pharmacist.

it is hard to say without a medical history of the kids. you need to ask a doctor who knows you children’s histories because many things can interfere with homeopathic meds and homeopathic meds can interfere with may meds

When I breathe in it seems like I’m not getting enough air. It happens mostly at night, and it get worse when I run around or go outside, witch really sucks, because I prefer to spend most of my time outside exploring, chilling, or playing sports. I took an allergy pill and some homeopathic allergy medicine yesterday, and it seemed to make it better, but then once I tried to go to sleep it got worse again, and I was stuck in a hot bath to try to make it better until about 5 in the morning. >.< It was really annoying, and I think it’s either allergies, acid reflux, both of which have been known to happen to me in the past, or slight asthma. I’m afraid that it might be asthma, but I really hope it’s not. ![]()
Oh, and so far it only keeps me up every other night. Which is just odd.
I don’t really want to go to the doctor, so is there a way I can tell at home if I have slight asthma or not?
Thanks a million! ![]()

I drink vitamin water daily, but have never really been one to take vitamins.
Recently I started to wonder if I should be taking vitamins just to be healthier, but if I drink vitamin water is this already covered?
I know it has extra calories and sugar in it, but does it still act like a vitamin?
I am sixteen years old and have no health issues.
