Open or pimples ·: A closed grain increases and push their way to the outer surface of the skin. Black spots are not necessarily related to dirty skin, but the excess of melanin (dark pigment of the skin).

With inflammation

· Boil: The boil is the most common type of acne inflammation. Appears as a small pink granite and may feel tender. The Boil is considered the first step of a grain is infected.

· The pimples with pus: These differ slightly from boils, irritated, and contain a yellowish, whitish center called pus. Pus pimples usually means that there are a lot of bacteria collect under the skin surface. This grain is almost always caused by chemical irritation of the sebaceous glands or components.

Packages · or nodules: These are large (often painful to touch) packages that are irritated. They are filled with bacteria and pus below the surface of the skin. This type of grain will be infected in the most severe cases of acne and may persist for weeks or even months. The bacteria spreads to other areas, causing an even larger outbreak. It is this type of acne scars and pockmarks.

Remember that each drug has its own side effects. Some side effects include but are not limited to, irritation of minor skin, itching, burning, redness, (if taken during pregnancy), birth defects, sensitivity to sunlight, allergic reactions can cause death In rare cases, resistance to antibiotics, headaches, nausea, weight gain, thinning hair (temporary), joint pain and decreased night vision

Natural Health Cures – Don’t Check your Brain at the Door

While researching an article for my site, I visited several popular forums featuring home health cures. I was surprised at the level of distrust and skepticism directed toward our health care system in general and pharmaceutical companies in particular. Although not a strong supporter of either, what struck me the most was the lack of thoughtful consistency when it came to natural health cures and remedies.

It was almost as if the assumption was that if it was natural, homeopathic or an old world type of remedy, it was somehow better, safer and more effective than anything a medical doctor could offer.

While many of these could people have a healthy skepticism when considering pharmaceutical company intentions and ability to help control and illness, they blindly follow the natural health cure mantra.

Home remedies are also preferred by many because of a belief that the pharmaceutical companies are not interested in your health. While there are many examples of big drug companies greed and avarice, their products are very widely used and are considered both safe and effective. Make no mistake, this does not mean that they can be used without risk or should be used by just anyone.

While many of our most effective medications used today originally came from plants, this should not be used as a basis to assume that any plant is safe. Buttercups, Oleander and even a common house plant known as creeping Charlie are all considered poisonous. The point is that as consumers, we should not assume that everything with a natural label should be considered safe or effective. We should have the same healthy skepticism when considering natural cures and remedies that we show toward big drug companies.

We also need to consider the usefulness of testimonials. While a testimonial may offer some validation or a product, it should not be a major consideration for your purchase or use. The difference between a testimonial and the research done by the drug companies is like night and day.

Research is done to demonstrate the usefulness of a compound in a variety of people and situations, measuring the effectiveness and appropriateness of the product. A testimonial is based on one persons experience with a product. No information is usually offered about how the product was used, dosage or side effects experienced. Further, a testimonial also is based on the perspective on the person offering their opinion.

While many natural remedies and cures do indeed work, don’t allow your preference for these products to over ride your good common sense.

The Need for Natural Health Education

As I was working as a nurse in local hospitals and clinics I found myself feeling that I needed to do more for the patients. I wanted to spend more time with them and provide preventative care and emotional support. The problem was I had numerous patients and ended up being a technician of sorts, administering medications and monitoring IVs. I had little time for focused bedside care. The type of care Florence Nightingale spoke about in her writings numerous times.

The part I enjoyed was dong the treatments such as, bandage changes, compresses, and urine tests. That may sound strange but by doing that I had more contact with the patient and had more in-depth conversations with them.

I got out of nursing for a short period of time and worked with property management and attorneys. All the while I saw the buildings I managed as my patients and even kept the files as I did for patients in the hospital. It was an interesting job but I still had the feeling deep within me to help others in need.

During my days in real-estate I was faced with health issues such as chronic sinus infections, allergies, gallbladder pain, low blood sugar, fatigue and elevated liver function tests. I knew at that time that I needed to help myself. I sought out conventional medical care but only found that I had to repeat use of conventional drugs, drugs that just helped temporally and had a list of side effects. These drugs also caused my liver function to rise.

Due to my dissatisfaction I decided to seek out natural health care. Upon doing so I used homeopathics, herbs, and supplements that a practitioner recommended to me. My heath turned around drastically. I became stronger and reduced and eliminated the use of many of the drugs.

With all of the positive changes in my life I decided to seek out education in natural health. All those many years ago the education was difficult to find and when I mentioned it to family and friends they though I was a bit strange with my change in perspective. Even so I was determined to find classes. I trained with homeopathic practitioners, homeopathic professional organizations, a hypnotherapy guild, a reiki center, a shiatsu and healing center for acupressure and many more.

Since I found and completed many classes I then started to consult clients as a natural health care nurse. My education grew and I eventually obtained a doctorate degree in Holistic Health, Naturopathy and Integrative Homeopathy.

As I consulted clients they kept requesting that I teach the subject because they were also interested in following my path. Due to many similar requests I decided to teach my first holistic health care class. Over time our training programs grew and we began to teach many other natural health care methods. We added additional teachers to assist me with lecture and clinical supervision. We were and are still an apprenticeship model of training. The one thing I learned from nursing was that hands on was the best way to learn. The lecture is important but the hands-on was of most importance.

This growth through time was pivotal in my life. I now feel I am a new breed of Florence Nightingale, walking the halls of our natural treatment facility, feeling the positive energies of all of our talented practitioners and all of their clients feeing the effects of good care.
