Question by Lauren Padgett: Temporary Home Symptom Relief for Lymphatic Cancer in Terminally Ill Canine?
She has battled cancer for 15 months (several chemo options and 3 remissions but the cancer came back worse), today, the vet told us there was no more treatment options left. He tried to get us to put her to sleep today. We refused. We would like to keep her alive and comfortable for as long as possible. Both of these things go hand in hand. My object with this question is to increase her comfort. I tried to get the vet to call in liquid medicine for IV but he wouldn’t do it. We live 2 hours from the veterinary specialists. He said that the chemo punctures in the vein harden them. Despite the fact I knew this and know how to give a dog IV (several jobs working in Vet Clinics) he still didn’t feel comfortable with it. I respect that. I refuse to let her lay there unable to hold her head up without labored breathing from the swollen lymph nodes putting pressure on her trachea.

With all due respect, I mean it, I respect if you would put your dog down if in fact it was yours.
But If your question is not helping. I will report it as advocating harm which is a valid way to report answer per guidelines- She is part of my family. If you wanted to be euthanized while you were terminal, you would need to legally sign an affadavit and also undergo a complete psych eval. she cant do either. Please, I didn’t ask you to attack my personal choice. i asked you to help me make her comfortable until I have another treatment option get here in the mail. I made it clear I wasn’t going to do that. So if you can not help me or respect my choice please refrain from answering. Please stop trolling for points by attacking another individuals beliefs and hope. You must respect others. This isn’t about points. It’s about helping and respecting others. I say this with the utmost respect for even the ones I reported.

jfk’s family tree. His cousin had his leg amputated because of cancer. Nobody died of it in Kennedy’s personal physician’s life time or in his family before his cousin in 1960′s.

I guarantee JFKs dr said NO such thing. That “tea” is full of absoutely nothing and has cured not one animal nor human from anything except some money. To be sure, you don’t actually believe that nonsense?? Forget testimonials, please provide us with some backed up studies on this tea. Can’t find any?? I wonder why..
Actually, TWO Kennedy’s, at least, have had cancer, so you are wrong there..look it up. Bone cancer, brain cancer, etc…
So do you think if we had lymphoma, we could run to the drug store and pick up some otc meds to make us feel better?? The prednisone your dog is on is for swelling, the other for pain. If you don’t let your dog go with dignity and compassion, you will be torturing him till the excruciatingly painful end of his life.

And I’ve worked for vets before also and I’ve also had to have pets put to sleep because I don’t believe in torture.

Most likely that’s hormonal. I suggest you spend more time on your sleeping hours (sleep in the afternoon too!), keep your stress level low and prevent touching your face and spots more often. For home remedies, I found a good site for that:

We have tried raid and they don’t die. We have tried bee traps and they won’t get in them. We have tried other bug products on the market and nothing works.
