Product Description
In recent years more and more people have been turning to alternative or complementary therapies, both for their own healthcare and for that of their pets. For many, natural remedies that work in harmony with the body’s systems are the first choice to cure a range of ailments. Cats, just like people, suffer from the side effects that can result from the overuse of heavy synthetic drugs and invasive procedures. This book brings together all the natural remedies from a whole range of complementary therapies, explains how they work and shows you when and how these should be used for common health problems in your cat. Safe and effective treatments for almost 100 ailments are described in detail and real-life case studies show how they can and do work.Amazon.com Review
With more and more humans turning to alternative medicine, it was only a matter of time before their pets followed suit. Richard Allport’s Heal Your Cat the Natural Way is an informative guide to feline natural medicine. Therapies are concisely organized into two main groups: natural therapies, which include aromatherapy and acupuncture, and common diseases, which advises on the treatment of ailments, including those of the respiratory and urinary systems. Simple herbal ingredients and flowers are all that are required for many of these natural remedies, but one must be very cautious and should always consult a vet or natural cat-care professional before using any of the therapies discussed–your kitty isn’t a walking pin cushion, so don’t even think about trying acupuncture on your own. Heal Your Cat the Natural Way is both informal and informational–a good guide for deciding which natural therapies may be right for your cat. –Naomi Gesinger

This book is not only very informative, it’s very interesting as well. Who would have thought that nasturtiums have a natural antibiotic effect? Or that peppermint is good for your cat’s travel sickness and strawberries help relieve your cat’s dry cough.
The book covers Aromatherapy, Homoeopathy, Herbal Medicine, Bach Flowers and Acupuncture. First aid tips and handling emergencies are included as well. The book describes common diseases and how you and your veterinarian can treat them. It even shows you how to administer the treatment. It’s not a big book, only 128 pages, but I’ve found those pages have quite a bit of useful information even if I never choose to administer some of the therapies discussed. I did get lost among the abbreviations and latin terms used for homoeopathic therapies, however, there is so much more to this book and I learned so much from it that I’m glad I have it on my bookshelf. I’m using this book to help maintain my cat’s healthy life.
This book is definately an informative and interesting resource for all cat owners to have.
