Question by Trust me, im English: question about ocd……?
im 15 and have annoying ocd. with some objects if i brush them then i have to go back and say the names of my parents my 3 sisters and say “and everyone else” whilst holding it with my eyes closed. whenever my hands aree dirty i shake mainly around my shouldedrs and just want to detach from them like if theres food in the sink drain i have to get some tissue and i cant just pickk it out because i sdhake too much and have to scrub my hands. theres other stuff but its not really describable. a bit like you cant describe your dreams because theyre so strnage that no one else can understand them but you. i dont know what to do. every night im going to turn off my light and i have to breath in through my nose, close my eyes and say the fmaily names 4 or 5 times over in my head or under my breath then hold my breath until i get into bed. i dont know what to do, i told my mum (iv had it since i can remember) and she said she doesnt want me taking medication, she wants me to try homeopathy, i would like to go to a therapist to get to the bottom of it but its quite an embarissing subject to bring up and say i want to see a shrink. what should i do? what would be the best way to stop it?

I believe that OCD is just a result of a placebo. You think you need to do these things but you don’t. I don’t believe that there are “baby steps” for this kind of thing, If i had OCD I would just try to stop these habits right away.

But then again I have never met any body with this so maybe it is more of an extreme thing than I think it is but good luck.
