Question by Mommy to 3 and 1 on the way: How much does you family of five spend a month on food and household supplies a month?????
I would like to see how much other families are spending on food and household items a month. There is five of us me, my hubby, my son who is 8, my son who is 5, and my daugther is 8 months old we shop at target, food lion, and dollar general we spend-

400 a month on food for the four of us
140 a month for gerber baby food and target brand formula
130 a month for diapers, wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, hygenic supplies etc.
total of 670 a month
We only spend 60 on gas a month because my husband is a service tech where we live and he doesnt have to use the truck for work and I work from home.

Question by Traya: Is this enough money to buy household furniture and supplies with?
Im moving out and I have 3,000 cash to buy furniture and ALL household supplies,excluding the big stuff the apt has (fridge, microwave). The costs will be split with a roommate. DO you think 3,000 is enough to cover half of the expenses of a new place? WIll be looking at Value City and Walmart mostly.

(I do have a savings account with 15k in in, if I really really needed it but would prfer to not touch this as its my emergency fund)

That sounds good. For half of the stuff that’s probablymore than enough, you should go to IKEA though.
