Question by Sarah: Questions about taking multiple herbal supplements?
Can I take St John’s Wort three times a day, Brahmi once a day, and then Valerian root at night? Would those three be compatible? Or do I even have to worry about compatibility with herbal supplements?

I would need to fist ask. Are you taking any at the moment? If so which ones? You should look up the family’s related to all of those herbs and the side effects for taking them alone. Also you should never take three herbs , especially so many and different kinds on top of it if you don’t already know if you are allergic to one or all of them. Always start with one dose of one of these then gradually increase if you think you need more of a particular herb.
Please see my website for more information. I am researching herbs and adding information to my site as I go. Definitely look up any possible side effects to each herb before using them.

Question by cHel: Do Herbal Weight Loss Supplements Work?
Since herbal drugs or herbal supplements are not really tested by Food and Drug Administration or i mean maybe not all. I was this planning to buy herbal weight loss supplements, do you think it is effective or I would just waste time losing weight taking this drug? I really need more information about this. Thanks in advance!

FDA has nothing to with the effectiveness of a drug. The only thing the FDA regulates is what can be used and what can be said to market the product. Herbal supplements like green tea does not work. They have more of a placebo effect.

Question by Jay: Side effects of natural herbal supplements?
Natural/herbal sexual performance supplements
If taken in excess or too much too soon, can they have long term bad side effects? I’ve heard that since they’re natural ingredients, they shouldn’t, but can they?

Too much of anything can be bad for your health. I’m aware there are herbal supplements that inter act with heart medicine prescriptions. You need to use the internet to see what is normal dosage and whether or not the herb reacts with any prescription medicines.

I have an allergic reaction to pollen that causes my lower and upper eyelids to swell up. I’ve tried Claritin, Benadryl, Zyrtec, Singulair, and Cyproheptadine. None of these products have given me 100% relief, and they all come with unwanted side effects. Are herbal supplements the answer? And if so, what should I purchase, and from whom?

No- avoid herbal supplemets and stick with good old fashion claritin.
