Question by K G: Treatments for Fungal Infections.. home treatments..?
don’t have insurance, i have a reason to believe that i have a fungal infection.. case is supported by the fact that i ate antibiotics a few months back..
And i have random bumps sprouting up for a day or two and then going away..

the bumps are white or just a bump in my own skin color..

any homeopathic, herbal or other treatments i can do to take care of this?

free clinics have poopy service, and don’t really have a diagnosis team i trust..

fungal infections rarely pop up and then go away. Also, taking an antibiotic a while back wouldn’t have anything to do with a fungus as antibiotics have no effect on fungus.
If it is a fungus, there are many over the counter remedies.
Athletes foot, jock itch and ring worm are all fungus and all can be treated with exactly the same cream.
You did not say where your bumps are but google it.
Example:
If your bumps are between your toes, google foot fungus.
the Mayo Clinic sight generally has photos, great information and treatment suggestions.
Now my grand son does get these bumps on his hands and upper arms and he was given cortisone cream to put on them and it went away.
I really don’t think you have a fungus as it just doesn’t sound like one.

Question by I’m the mommy!!: echinacea goldenseal for umbilical cord care?
With my son i didn’t use alcohol, i was given goldenseal which is a homeopathic thing i guess? I didn’t use the same midwives with our daughter & i didn’t know how to find the goldenseal, it worked really well…. the alcohol seemed to irritate my daughters skin :(
I used something called goldenseal for my son’s umbilical cord, we were given a few capsules by my midwives at the time. I have some Echinacea Goldenseal but idk if that’s the same thing or not? does anyone know anything about this?
I forgot to add, i have an 11 day old baby girl & a 4 year old son

Question by VS: I tried several OTC feminine care products, and now something strange is going on…?
A friend told me about the “Cool Wipes” from the makers of monistat, I went to the drug store to check them out and came away with a Monistat Soothe & Relieve Pack which includes the cool wipes and an anti-itch spray. I also came across a line of products called Yeast-Guard in the same aisle. One product in particular caught my attention, the Yeast•Gard Homeopathic Feminine Wash. Over the weekend I tried all three products and now the skin down their is kinda sloughing off like after a sun burn. None of the products hurt during use, they were all kind of nice actually so I’m not sure if it was one that caused it, a combination of all three or something unrelated. The active ingredients in the cool wipes are Aloe and Vitamin E, the spray has Pramoxine HCL 1% and the yeast guard wash has Tea Tree Oil, Canadial Albicans (homeopathically prepared to 28x), Canadial Parapsilosis (homeopathically prepared to 28x), Pulsatilla (homeopathically prepared to 28x). Would any of these cause this?

You probably had an allergic reaction to some of the ingredients; I would stop using the products and call your doc

Using Herbal Skin Care For A Bright Clear Complexion

Skin care is not a topic of recent times; it has been in practice since ancient times, when herbal natural skin care was probably the only way to take care of skin. However, skin care has transformed in a big way. Herbal skin care routines have been replaced by synthetic/chemical-based natural skin care routines. The herbal skin care recipes which once used to be common place are not so popular today (and even unknown to a large population). This transformation from herbal skincare to synthetic, can probably be attributed to two things – our laziness (or just the fast pace of lives) and the commercialization of natural skin care. Even herbal natural skin care products have been commercialized. These commercial herbal skin care products have to be mixed with preservatives in order to increase their shelf-life, hence making them less effective than the fresh ones made at home. However, it seems that things are changing fast and more people are now opting for natural and herbal skincare routines. But still, none want to make them at home and hence the commercial market of herbal skincare products is on the rise.

So what are these herbs or herbal skin care mechanisms?

Aloe vera, which is an extract from Aloe plant, is one of the best examples of herbal skincare product. Freshly extracted aloe vera is a natural hydrant that helps in soothing skin. It also helps in healing cuts and treating sun burns.

A number of herbs are known to possess cleansing properties. Dandelion, chamomile, lime flowers and rosemary herbs, are a few examples of such cleansers. Their herbal natural skin care properties get invoked when they are combined with other herbs like tea.

Antiseptics are another important part of Herbal skin care. Lavender, marigold, thyme and fennel are good examples of herbs that are known to possess antiseptic properties. Lavender water and rose water also form good toners.

Tea plays an important part in herbal natural skin care. Tea extracts are used for treatment of skin that has been damaged by UV radiation.

Oils prepared from herbal extracts present another means of herbal skincare. Tea tree oil, Lavender oil, borage oil and primrose oil are some popular oils used in herbal skin care. Some fruit oils (e.g. extracts from fruits like banana, apple and melon) find use in shower gels (as a hydrating mix)

Homeopathic treatments and aromatherapies also come under the umbrella of herbal skincare remedies.

Herbal skin care is good not only for the routine nourishing of skin but also for treatment of skin disorders like eczema and psorasis. Most herbal skin care products don’t have any side effects (the most important reason for preferring them over synthetic products) Moreover, herbal natural skin care products can be easily made at home, hence making them even more attractive. So, herbal skin care is the way to go. However, this does not mean that you totally discard the synthetic products. Some people go to the extent of debating with their dermatologist, if he/she suggests a synthetic product. You should accept the fact that some skin orders might need usage of clinically proven non-herbal skincare products.
